Three more reasons why I run with Team in Training

Last year I wrote a blog post on Why I run with Team in Training.
All these reasons are still true to me. But this year I added a few more.

During my recent run at the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in San Francisco, I saw these and realized they were true as well.

Me-Time
Taking time out from a busy work schedule and just go and run makes me feel better. I consider this Me-Time even though it’s not just myself but a whole bunch of awesome Team in Training running buddies!

Because I can
Every year, I pick a race or two and run with Team in Training, fundraise, volunteer and join the cause.
I can. And that’s what it comes down to. I am in a fortunate position to be healthy, and running with the Team is a reminder that I can make a difference in other people’s life.

Because we make a difference
During the recent Nike half marathon, I saw a person holding up a sign that read:
“Because of Team in Training, my brother is alive!”
I heard people shouting:
“Thank you, Team in Training, for saving lives!”
Other people shouted:
“Thank you, Team in Training, for caring!”

And yes, there are many worthy charities and everyone should pick one to support that aligns with their personal quest and cause. For me Team in Training is this charity.

And now it’s time to pick my 2015 Team in Training races!

Go Team!
