Beautiful Big Sur Coast – on my way to Mexico (virtually)

My virtual running challenge has taken me past Big Sur. It was a beautiful run along Highway 1 along Big Sur. In fact, I am ready to run the Big Sur Marathon or at least the Big Sur Half Marathon. Well, yes, I learned there is a Big Sur Half Marathon, but when I checked the route it was really only a Monterey Half Marathon, so maybe do train for a full marathon in 2015 and run Big Sur?

I am digressing…
As of today I have run 151 miles this year (20 more miles to go to get to Elephant Seal Vista – can’t wait). This is one of my favorite photos I took last year at Big Sur. Wouldn’t it be great running here?

On another drive last year I was able to see the coast less clear but beautiful in its charming misty way.

As of now I am doing pretty well with my challenges this year:

  • challenge #2 – virtually run to Tijuana, Mexico (510 miles)
  • challenge #3 – run 1000 miles to Venus with moonjoggers

I received my moonjogger t-shirt this week. It’s pretty cool, right?

I hope that you all are keeping up with your resolutions for 2014. It’s a great year and I am planning on keeping all the promises I made to myself!

Where are your 2014 challenges taking you?

To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.
