I am straying…

Theses past 2 weeks I have been straying big time from my love, running, and now even from my beloved sneakers brand. I don’t even dare mentioning that I bought boots with, gasp, heels! No way! It’s been a trying time and a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do: SHOPPING!

The first trip was to the outlets and while I was seriously considering getting a new pair of sneakers (my reward from me to me for my last race), I was let astray by the pretty boots winking at me in the store next door. I blame not running. It makes my shopping hormones and all go crazy and wild and makes me buy things I shouldn’t be buying.

The second trip took me to Sports Basement, actually so my brother could get himself some ski gear. Hey, when in a sports store a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do: SHOPPING!

While my brother was checking out whatever was on sale, I sneaked into the sneakers section and eyed my favorite running shoe: Asics Nimbus Gel. I love those. They feel like running on marshmallows, now thinking about it, I have never run on marshmallows, so I don’t know, but that’s how I imagine it. BUT then I strayed. I tried on the Brooks Ghost. I mean a shoe with this name can only be great, right? They feel like they are not really there (really light) or maybe that’s only because I haven’t run in 10 days? But they are oh so pretty. I should say I can’t wait to take them for a run, but I would be lying, they have been sitting around my apartment for a whole of 4 days without having been taken out of their box. I am a bad sneaker mom. But I am also a proud sneaker mom, here they are:

My new sneakers: Brooks Ghost – Shh! Don’t tell my Asics Nimbus Gel!

I promise I’ll stop straying: no more heels and I should really take these ghosts out for a spin around the trail. Tomorrow?

Which is your favorite running shoe?
